A Question for You Bloggers Out There: Do You Save Your Words?

This is a second try, which seems like an ominous warning, given what I had written.

It's the second anniversary of this blog, which I've thought about quitting until I realized that every time I try to quit, someone says they read it and it's important to them, and I keep on.

My question of the day: do you bloggers out there save your posts as word files? or do you trust the Blogger Gods? Or consider your blogtastic words simply home on the blog and nowhere else?

Thoughts?

Thanks, Phil

I trust Blogger as much as I trust Gmail, which is to say, if something were to happen, my work would probably be lost forever. I imagine if I downloaded all the posts and saved them on my PC I would never look at them again. Being posted online is where a lot of the value is derived.

No, I do not save my blogs unless they are some of my poems I share. I guess I should. But I enjoy your work Phil, it encourages all of us. I loved your Alice Walker You Tube.
Keep up the good work. I hear we have a mutual friend EJ McAdams, just saw him last week-end in Brooklyn for a few moments. Peace ko shin Bob Hanson

I am not a Blogger. I am a fan. I found your Blog after reading “Come Together: Imagine Peace.” As a Peace Activist Poet, your book and Blog are a continuing source of ideas, inspiration, and encouragement. Wherever you decide to save your work, please continue. Your work is important.

I do not save my blog stuff elsewhere. i think the only stuff i post worth saving is things like the videos on bonk blog of other people, and we do have archives of those videos. Otherwise, i think everything i put up is so ephemeral that it would not be a major loss if it was lost.

I never save copies when I post a blog, but I never put a lot of effort into a blog. I tend to think of them as I would a telephone conversation: instantaneous, hopefully interested, but very contextual and perhaps temporary.

When I took my dementia blog down, I simply selected all, copied it, and pasted it into word. I intend to make copies of my blog from time to time, but haven't yet (of course).
