Further thoughts on the cultural labor of poetry and art. Not merely "is it good?," but "what has it accomplished?"...reviews of recent poetry collections; selected poems and art dealing with war/peace/social change; reviews of poetry readings; links to political commentary (particularly on conflicts in the Middle East); youtubed performances of music, demos, and other audio-video nuggets dealing with peaceful change, dissent and resistance.

Fugazi's "Blueprint"/Turn Off Your TV, and your Computer for that Matter
Fugazi is the shit. They are one of the coolest bands. Ian MacKaye, their lead singer refuses to do interviews in magazines that endorse cigarette products. Fugazi is an acronym for "Fucked Up, Got Ambushed, gaZed In" If you want to see an awesome video, look up "Waiting Room" on Youtube, some good stuff. Have a great Christmas Dr. Metres! Hopefully you can come on the radio!
