Further thoughts on the cultural labor of poetry and art. Not merely "is it good?," but "what has it accomplished?"...reviews of recent poetry collections; selected poems and art dealing with war/peace/social change; reviews of poetry readings; links to political commentary (particularly on conflicts in the Middle East); youtubed performances of music, demos, and other audio-video nuggets dealing with peaceful change, dissent and resistance.

"Haters" by Tania Cuevas-Martinez and Lubna Khalid
This documentary, "Haters," by Tania Cuevas-Martinez and Lubna Khalid, exposes the rise of racial hatred in the post-9/11 landscape, and features work by poet Suheir Hammad.
Well, I had to watch this documentary from 2002 to get to know that the U.S. is deporting american children with their parents. I wonder where they are deported; I assume to the country their parents were born. I try to not judge other countries at any level, but what a giant amount of deranged decisions!
