DAM's "Born Here": Palestinian Hip-Hop
Palestinian-Israelis, Israeli-Arabs, DAM, hailing from the impoverished Arab environs of Lod, are one of the most important Palestinian hip-hop groups around. It's no mistake that Palestinian youth have adopted hip-hop as a mode of artistic and political expression, given the sympathies between their own experience as an oppressed minority within Israel.
